"Dishonorable Passions"

May 16, 2026

Cardinal Eijk, the Archbishop of Utrecht, Holland, is a faithful man of God who stands out as one of the shining lights in the Catholic Church is this age of moral and doctrinal chaos. He has recently written a piece criticizing one of the reports from the study group of "For a Synodalistic Synodality of synodal synodism for synodocrats in synodic synods." (I might have exaggerated that a bit, but I guess you can figure it out). He condemns the report as promoting a gravely sinful understanding of sexual morality. In short the report says, "God was wrong, and the people of Sodom and Gomorrah were actually very faithful" (my summary). You can read it here.

Please remember that Satan has never given up on trying to promote "dishonorable passions" of, "women exchanging natural relations for unnatural" and, "men committing shameless acts with men" (Romans 1:26-27). Why? Because even though it is repulsive to anyone with a conscience, the devil knows that it always leads to people being filled with, "all manner of wickedness, evil, covetousness, malice...envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity, [and they become] gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, [and] ruthless." And that is just the list that St. Paul gave (Romans 1:29-31). He even tells us that those who fall into this "deserve to die" and that they know it (Romans 1:32). Whoa!

Sodomy always leads to greater and greater sin. Some sins are isolated, and some sins touch other things. Sodomy spreads like a cancer and creates all kinds of other horrible things in one's life. I know a number of people (men and women) who struggle with being attracted to people that God does not want them to be attracted to (i.e. people of the same sex). Many have told me that what Paul says in Romans 1 is absolutely true.

It does not take much to point out that any acceptance of LGBTQ-ABC-XYZ-PDQ (etc.) ideology is immoral and completely contrary to the divine law. Yet, we also need to make it clear that sodomy is not only a problem in the acts themselves, but also in what it leads to. It makes it that much harder for a person engaging in that sinful behavior to repent and find the path to Heaven because of the numerous other sins that they fall into. We need to realize that our efforts are not just to "stop people from doing that", but to get them to Heaven. We need to warn people that it is not merely a sin in itself, but it opens the floodgates to a host of other grave sins that will lead a person's soul to eternal damnation.
