Please Don T Answer My Prayers

Oct. 9, 2024

Have you ever asked for your prayers NOT to be answered? No, I do not mean taking back a prayer. What I am referring to is the admission that God knows much better about what we need than we do. When you offer a prayer, it is assumed that it is what you think is best. Yet, we are also supposed to confess that God always knows better. It is one thing just to think this in our hearts. We also, however, must live it out in our words and actions. So when you pray about something specific, it would be a good idea to conclude with something like, ...but, my dear blessed Lord, You truly know what is best and I give up all my desires if they conflict in any way with Your desires. It was, after all, Jesus who started the whole idea when He said, not my will, but your will be done.
